Shortly after I moved to Houston in 2018, I contracted with FalconGuides to update four of their local hiking guides. I can’t think of a better way to explore a new area than hike all of its best trails.
Revising the work of an earlier author was a new experience. His style was more conversational and included personal stories. I updated details of hikes and added several of my own, but needed to find ways to maintain his voice, be true to my own, and not confuse the reader.
Each hike includes GPS coordinates for the trailhead, a map, photos, and descriptive text.
